This menu represents only a starting point. Our commitment is to customize menus for your occasion. We will assist with planning your event and offer creative menus, elegant presentations and thoughtful service to provide your guests with a pleasant experience.

Planning your Next Event
We pride ourselves on being able to meet everyone's catering needs. The following steps will help you through the process of organizing your special functions.
Arranging and Reserving a Date
Even if your event is tentative, please make arrangements with the catering department so that we can reserve your date on our records. All information such as location, estimated number of guests, time of function and menu selection, needs to be decided at least ten business days before the function.
Reserving a Room
Whether the event is to take place on campus or off, the location needs to be reserved before we can deliver. If you are booking a room in Hazelrigg Student Union, please contact the Reservation Office at 402.461.7356 as soon as possible to reserve a suitable room for your event. Tables and chairs need to be organized by you, including tables needed for food. When reserving the time, please allow time for setup and cleanup.
Contact the Catering Office
At least ten days before your event, contact the catering office at 402.461.7459 or stop by the office located in the Hazelrigg Student Union. Some arrangements can be make by phone or by e-mail; others require an appointment with the General Manager. The office hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After we have finalized all the details of your event, you will receive a Catering Planning Sheet to confirm and sign. Please carefully review all information on the catering planning sheet for accuracy and completeness. Please call in any changes and return a signed copy to us by fax at 402.461.7493.
Changes/Guarantees/Cancellations
All cancellations and or changes referring to the menu, count and event arrangements must be confirmed by 11:00 a.m., three business days prior to the event. Any event that is not cancelled within this time frame, will result in a 50% payment due as contracted on the Planning Sheet. If you do not contact us with a final count within three business days prior to the event, we will prepare the estimated number and prepare accordingly. You will be charged 95% of the guest count or the actual attendance, whichever is greater. Served meals are provided for the exact confirmed guest count.
Payment
All college events must supply Sodexo with their account number when booking the event. All food events are subject to sales tax, unless a copy of a tax exemption form is provided to us. All invoices should be paid within 30 days of receipt.
Delivery Fees
There is no delivery fee for catering services held in the Hazelrigg Student Union. Deliveries outside the Student Union will be subject to a $15.00 fee or 5% of the total bill, whichever is greater.
Service Upgrade
Our catering department provides high quality plastic products as our standard, unless otherwise requested. If china service is desired for events outside Hazelrigg Student Union or Barret Alumni Center, there will be an additional fee of $1.50 per person for full service meals and $1.00 per person for breaks, receptions and bar service.
Linen
As a standard, we provide linen for all food and beverage tables. Linen for guest tables is included only with full service china meals of breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you would like linen to be placed on guest tables for receptions, breaks and boxed lunches, there will be $3.00 per table cloth and $10.00 per skirt charge. The same applies to registration tables, head tables, and any additional tables. Please let us know your linen needs as soon as possible as our inventory is limited. Please inform us of linen color needs for themed meals.
Daily linen fee: $3.00 per tablecloth, $.45 per napkin, and $30.00 per skirt.
Flowers
You are welcome to bring your own centerpieces for the tables at your event. Please contact Sodexo to coordinate all decorations.
Attendants
To ensure that your event is a success, catering staff will be provided at all served meals and buffets. Attendants are not included for receptions and breaks. If you require attendants to serve drinks, cut and serve cakes, etc., they are available for $15.00 per hour. We recommend that you have one attendant per 75 guests.
Late Charges
Events booked with less than 48 hours notice, are subject to a $50.00 late fee.
Weddings
We are happy to assist you in the planning of this special day. You are welcome to use the bakery of your choice to provide the cake and we can provide the rest of the food. Based on the estimated guarantee, a 50% deposit will be required three weeks prior to the event. The balance will be due within 30 days of the receipt of the final bill. Sales tax will be added to all weddings. There will be a $40.00 service charge for a cake cutter and a $15.00 service charge for a punch server.
Catering Equipment
As the host of the catering event, you are responsible for the equipment we have provided for your catered event. Any missing or damaged catering equipment or supplies will be charged to your account as replacement costs.
Removal of Food
Due to Nebraska Health Department regulations and the nature of catering services, any food not consumed may not be removed from the serving location and remains the property of Sodexo Campus Services. All deliveries are for immediate consumption. |
